Tongue

At home now... spending some time to read in the daily bread.. just spend some time talk to mum also.. mmm..... i think somehow my skills on crucial communication gotta be improved... :)

Got woke up for an factory issue.. i wonder how is my engineer doing?
I hope for a good relaxing n wonderful sunday... Let's press on.. Hope the week will get better..

Open communication? still lingering in my mind.....
*********************************************************************************

It's been estimated that a talkative person may speak 30,000 words a day! But the important question is, how do our words, whether many or few, affect others?

A Greek philosopher asked his servant to cook the best dish possible. The servant, who was very wise, prepared a dish of tongue, saying, "It's the best of all dishes, for it reminds us that we may use the tongue to bless and express happiness, dispel sorrow, remove despair, and spread cheer."

Later the servant was asked to cook the worst dish possible. Again, he prepared a dish of tongue, saying, "It's the worst dish, for it reminds us that we may use the tongue to curse and break hearts, destroy reputations, create strife, and set families and nations at war."

We don't have to eat tongue to grasp that servant's point. But we may have to "eat our own words" quite often before we learn to avoid saying things we'd like to retract. Solomon wrote: "The tongue of the wise promotes health" (Proverbs 12:18). It affirms and encourages others. The key word in that verse isn't tongue but wise. The tongue is not in control, but the person behind it is.

If you want your tongue to build people up and not tear them down, ask God to make you wise. — Joanie Yoder

A wise old bird sat on an oak—
The more he saw the less he spoke,
The less he spoke the more he heard;
Lord, make me like that wise old bird.
—Anon.

Wisdom is knowing when to speak your mind and when to mind your speech.

When the Lord Tarries

*this article arrived at its timing!*

Habakkuk 2:3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.
God has a storehouse of blessings that He has reserved for you and me. However, our timing to receive those blessings may not be the same as our Lord's. God has a specific timetable that He requires to accomplish His purposes in the life of the believer. Sometimes that timetable seems excruciatingly cruel and painful, yet it is needful.
When we read that Joseph remained a slave in Egypt and was then placed in prison after being wrongfully accused, it would be easy to second-guess the God of the universe. Oh, how cruel and uncaring, we might think. Joseph thought he was going to be delivered from prison when he interpreted a dream for a court official, but then he was forgotten another two years. Why? An early release would have disrupted God's perfect plan.
God takes time to develop character before anything else. God could not afford to have a prideful 30-year-old managing the resources of an entire region of the world.
We can sometimes delay this timetable if we refuse His correction.
Although it is sometimes difficult to understand, the Lord is just and gracious in His dealings with His children. When He does decide to move on our behalf, we will appreciate the delay and will often understand the reason it was needed. Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him! (Is. 30:18)
If you are awaiting the fulfillment of a vision in your life, ask the Lord for His grace to sustain you. It will be worth the wait.

:) Good Reminder. I need to learn patience.

Patience

mmm, being reminded that.........I need to allow TIME for changes to take place, for things to happen... :)

Planning is ours, but the Timing belongs to God.

I guess i been constantly on the race............
Hope i will have a great relaxing weekend.

Amen.

Father, Grant me patience........ for things to take place, for changes to take place.. Grant me wisdom, for speech, for handling issues, for communications, for handling human relationships.. Grant me peace......for making decisions... Keep me close to You that i may not wander around but be focus on my mission. Amen.

Looking at Ceiling..

Troubled.

And i looked at the ceiling.. start asking a lot of questions...

I guess there has been many issues going on my mind lately....

Prayed this morning and refocus.

the Elijah's weekend

Judges 7:5 So Gideon took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, "Separate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel down to drink."
Would you ever take on an army of 100,000 with only 300 men? Sound preposterous? I agree. However, this is exactly what happened with Gideon. It was bad enough that he began with 10,000 against 100,000, but this was too many men according to God. He would not allow Gideon to fight with this many soldiers, because the temptation would still remain to believe that it was the strength of his army that won the victory. God told Gideon to pare down his army to a mere 300. This would ensure that God would receive total credit for the victory. This is a law in the Kingdom of God. All glory must go to Him. "Announce now to the people, 'Anyone who trembles with fear may turn back and leave Mount Gilead.' So twenty-two thousand men left, while ten thousand remained" (Judg. 7:3).
Now there are 10,000 men left but that was still too many. God gave Gideon an interesting selection method for the 300 as he took the men down to the water. There the Lord told him, "Separate those who lap the water with their tongues like a dog from those who kneel down to drink" (Judg. 7:5b). What was the significance of this? Those soldiers who lapped water like a dog were soldiers who were more aware of the enemy around them compared to those who kneeled to drink. The lappers were men who were on constant guard to the danger around them, keeping their eyes up and looking about them. The others could be easily picked off.
If you and I are going to be one of God's elite, we must be battle ready. We must be sensitive to the spiritual dangers around us. We must be trained to go about our business while, at the same time, discern when the enemy of our souls is prowling about seeking to destroy us. "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Pet. 5:8). Beware of the spiritual dangers around you.

*********************************************************************
The Servant's story that Rev William taught us captivate me.

Often, we always will be at a stage where...
perhaps, you are envy with someone's achievements..
perhaps, you are at the edge of lustful temptation..
perhaps, you are tired and weary and your children are making noises everywhere...

there will be a servant... come... knocking at your door...
"hey..master... were u not jealous over her??? ... she is so much better than you are... look at her............ look at the way she talk and gain all the attention.... look........ "

"hey..master..... were she not attracting you?.. look at the way she looks at you............ just give her a second glance........... go... "

"hey...master........... look at your children? were u not tired??... were u not angry at them and shout at them??.. show your temper and they shall be quiet...."

mmm.................... temptation of sin......come KNOCKING~~

And what should you do??

REBUKE them!!! :D Amen!!!

For servants shall not overpower you but they are always under our AUTHORITY.
REBUKE them and they shall obey.

Need to let the seed of this planted and rooted in my heart. :)

Effort

On my way driving back home last night, ~1145pm.. I suddenly recalled my CL said.. "i think women works differently. If a man approach her, even though she doesn't like him at first, if the man put in effort to care for her, call her, do things for her, etc etc.. eventually, there might be a day that the women will be touched and like the man."

I used to disagree with this statement, however i started to agree with him last night.

And i think of the 5 love languages that i borrowed from star.
I guess my No 1 ranking= "Act of Service".

Recalled the things that a man do and touched my heart..
a.) He drives for hours, just to see me. (Act of Service)
b.) When i said i want to eat something middle of the night, he just straight away buy and bring it to my house for me. (Act of Service)
c.) when i am sad..(even though i tried to suppress and make sure he doesn't notice), he sense it and call me after our group outing just to ask me "are you ok?"(thoughtfulness)
d.) He noticed the things that i love and buy them for me. I think specific example is someone get a camera for me because he said that i love to take "bukan-bukan" photograph. exp: He buy running shoe for me just because i want to run the bridge. exp: he got me diving book just because i love diving.(thoughtfulness)
e.) He just drive round and round the town..the city...giving me time.. just because i cannot decide what do i really want to eat. (Act of Service)
f.) He bring me see doctor when i am sick. (Act of Service)
g.) He cared for me and cover me with blanket, check on me at night when i am sick. (Act of Service)
h.) He makes drink for me.. Ribena!! heeheh~ (Act of Service)

Seems like majority= Act of Service................. Don't they? mmmmm~~

What is the thing you wish to do after you break up?

hahhaa.. so i heard this from the Fly-FM this morning..and the guy said..

"I want to take away all her shoes... and only leave her with a japanese slipper!!!"

hahahaahaahhHHHHHAHAHHH!!!!~~~ apa larrrr..........................

sweet..haha

haahaa... so i went chatting with the office bear... hehee..

"i like you because....
you are fun to be with...
you are practical, not materialistic..
you are low maintenance.. #$#%#%#$%#%#%#%....... (ish!)
and.... you are sweet when you smile~~~ (nasib baik he is smart)"

hahahaha~~ So.. Flying up almost hitting the ceiling..and we went jogging..

"yo.. i am sweet huh?" i said... and he looked at me.. "speechless"... hahahaa

Distance= Speed * Time

So, i went jogging instead of Elijah Challenge. (con call :( )...

30mins, Weight Lost mode, Level 3, completed 4.3KM.

calculation if i run 5KM= 5km/4.3km * 30 mins= 34.88mins!! aiseh........

And Penang Bridge= 22.3KM, meanning= 22.3/4.3 * 30 = 2 hour 35 mins!! wah.. NOt bad arr?? ( if la i can maintain that speed.... speed= 4.3km/0.5 hour= 8.6km/h!!)

My Target for Penang Bridge= 2 hour 30 mins.

How fast should i run??

Speed = Distance/ Time= 22.3KM/2.5 = 8.92 km/h ler!!! wah.. Round the number, meaning i have to maintain 9km/h!!!!!..........

ee.. nothing happen.. :(

Tried again..
"Away from me!!"...

ee.. nothing happen.. :(

Ish, i must have missed something out of the preaching last night due to my early departure for conference call at home.. :~ And i gonna miss tonight too!! ishh!!1 ish!!...

Michael Phelps

wah, i wonder how many GOLD medal is he going to grab this coming BeiJing Olympic?

emmm..

" i think you have grown more matured compare to last time"
A comment made by a close friend of mine.

It makes me think a bit.
Matured or Complicated?

ahahhahaha~~

CG

Ha! Some interesting discovery during CG last nite.

1.) my CGL and another very " see-man"(cantonese-gentle) girl, walow, cannot believe both of them are equally cruel.
exp: see birdnest, with little birdy inside, can just throw out the whole nest coz mess up in their house. errrr.................
exp: when we talk about keeping fish and the fish grow bigger in bigger tank.. they ask.."can it be eaten?".. errrr......

2.) Wah.. that very "see-man" girl... wow, she made fantastic PIZZA and roast rosemary potato!!! Yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

!! :D hehehehe~ Though my CG ppl are getting lesser and lesser..(for watever reason.. unknown ).. i pray that we will have stronger bonding among us.. hehehe..~ Pray for CGL to be more patient too.. hahahaa.. :P

Position

Something caught my mind this morning during the townhall in my company.

The craving for recognition and position have caught me into self-awareness.
It feels good to be recognized..
It feels good to have someone pad you on the back and say."Good Job"..
It feels good when you are at a high position in a company and be respected.

And it makes me recall the story of Solomon.
King Solomon had all those, wealth, position, power. But what did he say?
"Meaningless.."

Need to find a balance, don't we?

Need Prayer

It has been sometime that i do not really speak to my ex.
However, we started to talk a few weeks back.

Starting from his concern of me going to sri lanka.. of me going diving.. of me falling sick during diving.. and of my recent directions and decisions in life..

we have come to agree that, perhaps, there's still some emotional attachment where we need to put in some effort to resolve this. Perhaps we have really understand each other too well that, just by a glance/ by a sentence that we write, we are able to 95% accurate about the condition of the other person.

We felt regret and sorry for the broke up.
We felt we both have been growing in the Lord and agreed that breaking up is perhaps the right choice.
Having to move on with life, once decided that it is not good to get married, we need to pray for the emotional attachment that still remained in us to be completely cut off.

I hope for the best of him in his life, his career and perhaps his future partner. :)
Love is not possesion.

What is Marriage?

Having some late night chat with a friend of mine and she has commented on marriage..

"if not ngam, then divorce lar".

I am starting to wonder, with the increasing of divorce rate in the society, has Marriage already lost its original meaning?

I remembered Pastor Isaac taught about Marriage= becoming 1 flesh. (not only in terms of physical, but "something" happen which bound the 2 person together.)

(Genesis 2:21-24) “And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”

http://www.gotquestions.org/one-flesh-marriage.html

It breaks my heart when i heard of people saying that they wanted to divorce.
Perhaps, i am not in the position to say anything, but i really hope that, both will reconsider the commitment that they have made towards each other in the beginning of their marriage.

And for those that single, life partner is an important decision in life. Pray and seek counsel if needed. :)

My Boss

Lately, i been working closely with my boss.
Planning, feedback, discussions..........

Forgeting some of his weaknesses (lack of listening skills, restless+unstable), i observed some of the good traits in him.

1.) His planning
2.) His efforts to work out a plan and draft something out.
3.) His ability to separate emotion from work.
4.) His boldness to ask

Perhaps, there are a lot for me to learn from him as those things that he is good in, i still have a lot to learn. :) Hope our relationship will be strengthen each day and will build a strong team together. Amen.

Crowning Glory Message

It has been 3 weeks that i did not attend church due to Sri Lanka Trip, Sipadan Trip + Sickness.

And last saturday, as i was having bad flu, i dragged myself and make an effort to present at Crowning Glory. The feeling was not good at all having my nose feeling uncomfortable and those uncle aunties keep asking me.."hey..why do u cry??"..

However, the message spoke to me and reminded me something.
I found that lately i have been planning my life, planning my works, planning my sub-ordinates career goals, planning a lot of things and been taking actions to accomplish them, hopefully one by one....... it has caught me to perhaps, forgetting who is actually in control of all things.

Once again, i was being reminded of..
Luke 14:11 For all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.

As much as i plan, i know that the outcome is also up to Him.
As much as i tried to achieve many things, again, i want to make sure i am in line with Him, His Plan and His purpose.
As much as i trust my planning+actions, i recommit my plans+actions unto His hand and seek His guidance.

I thank God for many friends/work-partners that crossed path with me lately, whom i really learned quite a lot from each of them. Hope i ll continue to grow in my Maturity this year.

A friend of mine

lately, my perception towards a friend of mine changed a little.

I used to admire his gentleness and quietness. But got disappointed over his rebelliousness + complication.

But lately, as i seek to know him more, i found that...
He is caring, sensitive, seek to help, taking care of other people feeling, and surely he invests a bit in my life.
I admire his tidiness, careful planning and sincerity.

I thank God for this friend of mine and hope the best for him in his life. ;)

MAN

haha, lately been laughing with friends about Man's Ego...

I think the smart women always know how to take care of her man's ego..hahaa...

For example:
If a man cannot find his way, and you complaining/try to teach him......... oh no........... u ll notice the changes in his face la.. (Ego Tercabar)..

hahaa, so if u r tired of taking care of your man's ego.. find someone with lesser ego la.. hehehehehe~~ Smart:P

Discretion

Got feedback in this...

Discretion vs Simplemindedness
Discretion= recognizing and avoiding words, actions and altitudes that could bring undesirable consequences.

*Consider the Consequences- think through each situation and evaluate how your decisions affect others.
*Choose Words Carefully- encourage and instruct others with carefully chosen words that produce constructive results.
*Practice Good Manners- show other the same courtesy you wish to receive from them.
*Learn from Mistakes- observe mistakes in order to devise a better response for future situations.
*Stay Away from Trouble- anticipate potential trouble, and avoid compromising situations.

Evaluate Your discretion:
1.) Do you consider how your actions affect others?
2.) Do you choose words carefully or expect others to understand?
3.) Have you studied the protocol and expectations in each social situation?
4.) Do you discern what caused a mistake and take steps to avoid repeating it?
5.) Do you avoid trouble when possible?

1 by 1

Many things been pondering me lately and i guess, i am a bit under pressured..
Repeatedly, I am asking myself.. "Don't u want to grow?"

if "YES".. then, you have to constantly seek to learn, ready to be bold, take criticism/rejection and learn from it. I guess i am the type who learned through mistake and hard hit on the head.. hhaa!!

So i am glad that i made one of the decision. Hoping as time past, i will be able to see things clearer and made other decisions. Law of Sacrifice.. This always stand. Need to remind myself that, in order to get something, something else need to be sacrifice. :)

Someone reminded me.. Give someone a fish, and it will only last him a meal. Teach him how to fish and it will lasts him for life. :) hope this issue also will be solved...

I made a decision

So, after i..
--gather accurate informations--seek to understand and not assume..clarify..
--weighing the facts, opinions...

I made a decision. :)

Now i need to show commitment to the decision i made and to weather criticism.

Hope I am on the right track.

peserverance?

After so long...... i finally did my 5km jog.

."why the km drop so slow.. :(.."
"why not i do 4km enough la..."

"ok la..i run til 6pm la.."
...

... "so long lagik.. :(.."
....

"left 1km, u want to quit??"
... :( :~....
increase back to 12km/h....let it run faster.........
"0.8...0.5...0.3......0.1....0..."

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.......
5km in poor 34 mins.. and my stories of peserverance........!!!

my lovely kor gave me new balance running short+singlet+socks(haha..socks also he got for me...matching with my Asics somemore.).. look so professional lor.. i must improved my 5km ler... !!!

Decisiveness

I think decision always followed by actions. The actions needed to support the decision made and make it a reality.

Been on this "Character First" thingy from company.
Decisiveness= The ability to recognize key factors and finalize difficult decision.
Key Traits:
1.) Gather Accurate Information -develop the habit of gathering correct information and retaining trusted advisors.
2.) Keep a clear perspective- learn to separate and weigh facts, goals, feelings, interests, and opinions.
3.) Make the right choice - make decisions based on sound morals, wise priorities, and accurate information.
4.) Follow through- demonstrate your commitment to a decision by investing the necessary time, resources and effort
5.) Weather Critism- maintain consistency by making clear commitment to what is right, acknowledging mistakes when necessary.

To evaluate your decisiveness:
1.) Have you maintaned relationships with knowledgeable people and actively studied and evaluated new information?
*Yes. Hope to build more, learn more.
2.) Do you assume your feelings are always accurate?
*sometimes... aiks! but learning to ask and clarify lately.
3.) Is the right decision or the easy decision more appealing to you?
*Right of course!!!.. but i don't deny at times, i tend to choose an easy way out too!
4.) Has the result of a poor decision ever caught you by surprise?
*Usually not surprised me, but more on, when i decide on something, i usually weigh the consequences. And i am blessed that sometime, those consequences doesn't hit me. (thank god!).
5.) Do you often procrastinate, hoping someone else will make a decision for you?
*i think not. I usually cannot stand the feeling of hanging in the middle of being indecisive.... usually i heed good counsel, weigh pros and cons, list down and make a decision. then i ask God to change it if otherwise... Sometimes, i pray for wisdom and guidance and peace of heart too.

UnderWater Photos

nice photos captured by one of the friend i gotta know from Sipadan Diving trip.
Moses Ong- from KK, but been working in US in software for 10 years.

Quite a nice guy.

http://www.mosesong.com/travel/sipadan_trip08h.htm
Upon viewing his photos and videos..i felt as if i was really there once again.. haahha!! So nice!!!

For your information, most photos were blueish because of the sunlight that reached the corals and fishes. It also depends on the camera flash. If sun/flash cannot reach the objects, most of the colourful nature of the fishes and corals cannot be reflected. Now you know how IMPORTANT the sun is! :D

He is using merely a candid camera, Canon. WOW.. he really make me felt that i should get 1 underwater camera for my own use!!!

Dr Foo shared his photos in his blog too.. http://diverfox.blogspot.com/.. Now this is close to me!! Because Dr foo is actually the same team as me ma.. while moses is not... yeah~~ Will share more when Dr Foo posted more of the underwater photos he took!

Death Works In You

**article extracted***
Have you ever gone through a very difficult time in your life? These times make us value life. They make us appreciate the simple things that we took for granted before the crisis. When we are restored from such a trial, it is as though we have been given a new beginning. We can place a greater value on what we had before and use it for His purposes. Perhaps for the first time we can identify with others who find themselves in a similar trial.
I recall having an attitude of superiority over those who went through a difficult financial crisis. Because I had never experienced any financial crisis in my life, this pride kept me from identifying with such people. Then the Lord brought such a trial into my life. I learned a great deal during that period. I learned that the world and even Christians often treat such people as lepers. Like me, they didn't know how to relate. Now, I appreciate the little things that I never would have valued without that trial. The experience taught me greater dependence and faith in the provision area of my relationship with God.
When God brings death to one area of life, he resurrects it in a new way. Death works in us to bring new life and new perspectives. These are designed to press us forward in ways that we never would have moved without the experience. God knows how much this is needed in our life to gain the prize He has reserved for each of us. It is His strategic mercy that motivates Him to bring such events into our life. Press into Him, learn of Him, and rely on Him.

Our Work Versus Our Value

Man was created to have seven basic needs. Each of us has a need for dignity(1), authority(2), blessing and provision(3), security(4), purpose and meaning(5), freedom and boundary(6), intimate love and companionship(7). When we go outside God's provision to meet these needs, we get into trouble.

Every man has a need to work and gain satisfaction in caring and seeing something come from his efforts. Many of our basic needs are derived from our work; it was one of the first acts God did for man in the Garden of Eden. He gave him responsibility to care for and work the Garden. God knew man needed to be productive. He needed to gain satisfaction from his work.

The danger of this is when we allow our work to be our complete source of purpose and meaning in life. This leads to a performance-based life. A performance-based life says, "As long as I perform in my work, I am acceptable to myself and others." This is a subtle trap for all of us. It can lead us to become workaholics if we are seeking acceptance through what we do. Sometimes this can be on a subconscious basis.

Our value must be centered in Christ, not in what we do. If we lose our job or our business, this should not devastate us if we are centered in Him. It will certainly create difficulties, but God is the orchestrator of all the events in our lives for His purposes. Even difficult times have purposes.

Today, ask the Lord if you have a proper balance in your work life. Is Christ the central focus? If you work long hours, ask yourself why. You might discover that God may not be the central focus.
