2009 is going fast...

i think 2009 is going fast.....

And it seems that 2009 been quite a good year thus far.
reconciliation, new relationshipssss( ask my buddy n that star), new jobsss..despite the seems-getting-worse economy downturn.

Wow, by the end of 2009, i hope i have achieved the goals i set for myself this year. :D
Let's count the good things that will happen in 2009... 1 by 1 yeah.. recording....

-CNY, into new house! yeah!
-seems to have great bunch of colleagues! yeah!

-got nintendo Wii to play! yeah!
-got surprise roses for valentines! yeah!
-finally set a date for Bali Trip! yeah!

and hopefully the lists go on and on.... heheehe

not in my plan this year..but let's see.

4.) Salmon Fishing

I always thought i need a full 3-weeks there. Let's see.

Nadal beats Federer to win Australian Open

I am starting to look at investment during this period.

Basic that you should know:
1.) FD, at 3.7% yearly interest rate. 1 time $$ allocation.
5 years time- 19.9% growth
10 years time- 43.8% growth

2.) EPF, at 5% yearly interest rate. 1 time $$ allocation.
5 years time- 27.6% growth
10years time- 62.9% growth

Remember the figures above, then you will know how to actually judge a fund's growth. (correct me ya if i am wrong..)

This fund seeks to provide medium to long-term capital appreciation, with a moderate level of volatility.

since inception(jan 06) to dec 08 - 19.9% growth ( 3 years period)- same as FD 5 years growth.

OR..... if i choose for lower more secure way...............
b.) Lion Fixed Income Fund
A fund which invests in fixed income securities like government and corporate bonds (ranging from 40% to 95%) with the balance invested in cash and cash equivalents. This fund seeks to provide consistent return at low levels of volatility.

2007- 7.1% growth
2008- 5.3% growth
5 years period to dec 08- 44% growth (higher than EPF-5years growth 27.6%)

2.) I then can move to support my friend's in Public Mutual.. the public china select fund i bought since inception. May be i should also activate monthly 100-200.

Since inception ( jun 07- jan 09)- 45.04% dropped ( meaning you can buy with very low price, if you think china market will recover in 3 years time)

3.) You can also choose to look at some of the Islamic funds which also have a huge drop.

Higher return always means higher risk!

So in financial planning........
1.) Protection always come first ( insurance plan, medical plan, etc)
2.) Savings for something( children, dreams) --> can choose low risk investment
3.) then you have surplus of $$$, u can choose higher risk investments. :)

Year End Summary

mmmmmmmm, to summarize= it is different!

I still remember the first time i did year end summary with my engineers last year.
I still remember the first time i did the planning with them last year.
I still remember i did the mid year review with them last year.

n now... no more engineers. but just me, with my boss and bigger boss.

1 thing i learned:
To achieve something, you have to DECIDE that you want to achieve it and repeatedly doing the things you already good at.

mmm..decide.

What should i do?

mm, about refrigerator...

Background of the refrigerator:
-not there initially
- sponsor by house owner when we mentioned that we are looking for a refrigerator

In mid year 2008:
-malfunction
-since there's not much cooking done.....so we just leave it and not repair it.

Jan 2009:
- a new korean girl wanted to shift in February, needed a fridge.
- So i send the fridge for repair.
-repair fee, estimate to be RM500- RM550.

So the decision would be:
1.) Do i want to share the RM500-RM550 repair fees among all housemates?
The male housemate don't really need a fridge.
the male housemate only here mon-thurs night.

a.) share the fees among all housemates equally
b.) claim from house owner, even though he sponsor us the fridge
c.) only share between korean housemate and i.

2.) What should i do with the electric bill?
a.) equally divide among all housemates
b.) only divide between korean and i.

Fridge man

So the fridge man came.
Checking my fridge.

the fuse burned. and when he replaced it, and turn on.. WOW! there's smoke coming out from my fridge.. oh no.. my fridge's motor is confirmed gone....

mm, hopefully my fridge will be only RM500-RM550 as said.

ah, a big ang pau for CNY... not flowing in..but given out. ehhee.

-arhg!! button works intermittently!
-argh!! maximum audio seems to have problem and audio hole!!
RM1399 paid.....

25 Dec 2008, i decided not to use it anymore, awaiting for exchange once i got back to Penang.
26 Dec 2008, called up the distribution center, asking for replacement.
30 Dec 2008, back to Penang, returned Q9H to distribution center.

ohh... celebrating 2009.....................

waiting.....waiting...waiting...........many days have gone by.........wow wow wow...

9 Jan 2009, sent a complaint email to distribution center, asking for update. Giving them a date line of 12 Jan 2009, replacement/ RM1399 refunded.

13 Jan 2009, got the new replacement. Arhggg!! Max Audio still not working fine!!! I was frustrated. Checked with distribution center, asking them, if they have any records of phone latest software.

14 Jan 2009............... i waited for their call about update. Noon, they called, "your Q9H is ready, it is working fine after upgrading software. !"

15 Jan 2009, collected my Q9H.

A journey of 23 days altogether!

Lesson Learned:
1.) Always check the phone information, especially the manufactured date.
Apparently, my phone was manufactured at March 2008.
2.) Always check the important function that you want to use, in this case, the navigation button, bluetooth, speaker phone and also maximum audio. Always check maximum audio.
So, i found faults!
3.) Always make sure your phone is on latest software.
because, as an engineer( ahem), a lot of fixes will usually be software fixes. So if there's no option of getting a new hardware revision, always ask for a latest software revision. Phone software is usually created to be backward compatible.
4.) Always check the phone functions and make sure you report your faults to the distributor.
-Check them before paying.
-If found faults, do not accept the phone and ask for new replacement. Record the serial number.
-If found faults later at home, within 7 days, you can still ask for a new replacement.

:) Be a wise consumer.

Get organized

haha, the one and only thing i want to achieve in 2009 is to get organized...

So i kicked start with the refrigerator........

WOW..........SUCH a home- sweet- home for germs when i opened the few-months-shut refrigerator!!!! ill!!! ......

finally~~ just close my eyes and throw every stuffs inside. ( ok ok.. i have to confess i have not throw all stuffs inside since my refrigerator stop functioning a few months back. but i only keep the dried stuffs, ok!! )

hehe, so looking at the refrigerator corner of my house... i need to continue to clean up tomorrow.

1.) Separate my sis stuffs and my stuffs.
2.) Throw away unneccessary stuffs.
3.) Give away unwanted clothings.
4.) Arrange the kitchen utensils.
5.) Fix my toilet light.

mmmm..............wahseh, so much things to do!!! i need help!!!!

Starting my 2009.....

wow. Quite a good start for the year.

First, i try to read the bible and pray short prayer every morning.. and put a tick on the calendar-like box that PCC prepared for us.

Secondly, i cleaned up my room a bit.

Thirdly, i stopped by my new house on 29 Dec 2008 and sleep on my newly bought sofa on 1 jan2009. :D my family moved in on 25 Dec 2008. hehee~~ So we will have Chinese New Year in our new home. yippee!!

Fourthly, i spend the New Year with my darling's family. hehee.

Fifth, i went to the GYM today. hahahaa.....! and i hike the monkey beach on 4 jan 2009.

sixth, my small room new housemate moved in on 4 Jan 2009...

and FINALLY.............
a korean girl said she wants to stay in the middle room which i about to rent out on Feb 2009.
-she cook dinner
-she love cleanliness
-she is a finance officer
-she is quite pretty
mmmm, more to find out.

I truly thank God for He really provides. :D
I was just thinking of... may be it's good that i can get a female and pretty housemate...........

Last Day of 2008

I guess as we grow older, we don't really feel like celebrating New Year!

28 now, next year..29... then........ 30!
wahseh! Will i have a naughty Russel by then? hahaa...

2008 been quite a "busy" year for me where i found myself..
adapting to housing loan payment...
adapting to "sucking" of $$$ from housing reno...
adapting to manage a group of engineers..
travelled with big bosses to sri lanka..
career change..
first on-site alone to bangkok..
adapting to a new relationship...

mmm, end up, they are so different compared to the goals i set! except the BIG LOVE i ve drawn. ahhaa~

So what about 2009??

1 thing i want to achieve is ORDERLINESS. To get organized. hopefully start with career goals, in managing finance, in my household. :)

Close Deal--Small Room Housemate!

mm, how should i say???
I just want to thank God for He is always awesome.. His timing is always perfect.

It started like this... just after i blogged the previous "suspicious" house-hunter, this Mr Hiew called. He sounded like uncle also... I was stucked on the way back from work, somewhere around Intel, it was 640pm.

"Hello.. can i come earlier to take a look at the room?"
"arrr....... i am stucked in the jam.."
"mm how about 730pm?"
"emm, should be OK."
'"ok..see you then"

mmm, my heart was.... er........ then i looked up the sky...... the sun was quite bright.

"God.... please protect me from harm and danger..." "God... can you help me to find a good housemate?" "God.. help me.."

And when i got back, i saw my housemate walking out from the house. And i thought, Oh No! He is not at home.....err!
So i put my other hope on the other housemate, hoping there will be someone there with me when the new guy come look for the room.
arr!!! His shoe is NOT there! He is not yet back!!

arrr, does it mean i gonna be home-alone with stranger!!! oh no.
And i called my friend, who wanted to come sort of be my bodyguard.......ar, but he can only make it home at 845pm!!! oh no!!! and the guy is coming.......

ahhh!! my phone rang! he is downstair!!!

"God, i am trusting myself in your hand, guide me"..

and i saw him. mm, look like may be late 30s or early 40s.
so i started to talk to him... ask him where do he work, where he stay, why he look for room, etc etc....
and i was with him standing at the lift, waiting for the lift........

dang dang dang dang!!!!!!!!!!!!! my housemate(middle room) appeared! :D :D:D::DD::D:D:D:D:D
so i introduced my housemate to him. :D
and we talked in the house, show him the room, explained to him all the bla bla bla...........

**i also asked him is he married.. hehe, seems he is not. er.. will need to find out more in future perhaps.*

So he is a technical support person for plating.. from ipoh... usually travel a lot, supporting northern region.. etc etc..

So he pay me the deposit. And he want the house.

And before he go, he asked me..............

"Hey, do you know 1 guy from Sg Ara?"
"arr? why?.."
"because, you see.. this sms........... i was suppose to take a look at his house but the room is occupied. And he sms me your number asking me to call you"
WOW..... someone actually helped me.

mmmm......... So here's the end of my SMALL room- room mate hunting.
Future performance, i would have to see.

But 1 thing for sure..... God's timing is AWESOME>! Always.

Housemate Hunts continueeeeee

Wahseh, Yesterday there were these 2 strangers called!...

"Hello... are u Ms CHong?.. you have empty room right?.."
(hearing his tone, i assume he is malay..and i thought, ee, i am looking for chinese housemate...)
"yes i am.. but who are you?"
"I am looking for a room for my sister who work in e-gate in january.."
"oh..but... errrr?" (thinking, i am renting to chinese ...er)
notice my tone of voice, he passed his phone to his friend(who also sounded like uncle).
they guy spoke to me in Mandarin.. stated that his sis looking for room.

So i assume it is him who looking for room for his sis.

After that, my darling reminded me to beware of strangers coming to see house especially due to this poor economy and terrible security of the world.

around afternoon, the malay guy called again, stated he was the one calling me in the afternoon. Saying, actually his mum is chinese and his sister wanted the room. errr...... I start to get suspicious due to the words my darling said.

Then, around 5pm+, while i was driving.. the chinese guy called up..stated to me his sister looking for room.... will be working in seagate!!!

And i replied " eee, i thought you have call this afternoon???"
....he seems to be nervous a little and replied.." oh really? sorry sorry...................."

mm, i hope he will not call me again. Eeee! Not sure what they are up to!
And after i checked, both their numbers ended with the same 4-digits!

My housemate after realized my house owner want to raise the rental( not yet effective pun), he directly go and find another house.. sob..................
so.. he is moving out end of this month....
i hope i can find a new housemate soon for his room..

2.) housemate for middle room
so this boy is a trainee for 3 months, i kasian him so i rent to him lor.... though only 3 months.
so he is moving out by end of january.

it seems that i need prayer for these 2 rooms....... mm..
Or should i just get another apartment?
I been searching for apartment like 100K-130k.
Not sure is it a wise decision.

so this year 28th birthday.. 3 of us gathered...added 1 camera man..and with great cameraman(ahem)... come great picture... hahahaa.............. so.. we were having fun at the balcony..making noise at 1am+++ arrrhh.. no wonder la my housemate want to move out!!!!! now i found the rootcause.... :P

more n more negative

found out i am becoming more and more negative as i grow up...

i guess it must be due to the "perception" i had on others based on experience.

for example, when i look at...
1.) someone.. ar.. so arrogant and proud with her own son......... but not so proud with her daughter.. err? 重男轻女？
2.) someone... always want to minimize other ppl's achievement......... ...zz
3.) someone... so dying for attention.........
4.) someone....... so fake!!!
5.) someone.... so bloody stingy and calculative........
6.) someone.... so money-minded.........

etc etc...........oh no, i am being poison..and my heart has grow cold........

goodness...... i better repair my heart........ my mind............
bleach my brain???

原以为。。。 弄完白果就没事了。。。。。 但，心里的不服。。还在哪儿。。

got called to help out programming radios again, and i totally disagree!
1st, i don't really like the idea having development team reprogram production radios for shipping.
2nd, i don't like the manager who don't dare to voice up and do the RIGHT thing just because his manager give him the order..
3rd, i don't like the way he is not listening to our concerns and instruct all the engineers, to help him out.. instruct! "Hello???!!...... aren't you asking for help??? "

i tried to be patient with him at first.
1st, he made me stand there as if his servant, doing nothing..waiting for him to call me just to help him program/soldering..... hello??? i am not a technician...
2nd, when i ask him some question for thinking, he raised his voice....... hello???? can't you listen to my concern??
3rd, he keep calling to ask me do the programming for him, just because he don't have the programming tool installed in his computer.. hello????? cant you just install and get it up running???

i am loosing my mind today......... Pre-Birthday!
